We are in training, we have to do something if we are going to manage the 25 km a day we'll have to walk along Hadrian's Wall. Only three more weeks left to get ready. So, today we drove out to Nicolle Flats and walked around the marsh. It is a good 10 km hike.
There were lots of ducks a few geese and about 20 pelicans. I love watching them. They look clumsy but just look at them them soar for a while and you'll change your mind.
The prairie crocus are out on the south side of the lake. In some places there are one or two and in others hundreds. I am always amazed at how they manage to push up through the heavy, winter matted prairie grass.
